125 Years Experience
On February 23, 1899, Sister Prudence, Sister Angela, and Sister Cecile were sent to Taiping to establish an English (girls') school in Klian Pauh, with a total of 75 students named Klian Pauh Convent. Sister Euphraise, of Indian descent, began teaching with only 8 students in 1900. The school became the leading Tamil school in Taiping. Classes were conducted in a classroom behind the St. Louis Church building. By 1903, the number of students had increased to 26.

STC 125 Celebration
SJK(T) St. Teresas Convent, Taiping, established in 1900 with just 8 students, is the oldest Tamil school in the historic town of Taiping and one of the oldest Tamil schools in Malaysia. Over the past 125 years, the school has become the preferred educational institution for the Indian community in Taiping and has produced thousands of successful alumni in diverse fields such as medicine, law, engineering, and many others. The current enrollment includes 340 students, comprising kindergarten and special education students.
